This Thursday at 8pm:
Special Guest(s): David Tanner
Be sure to listen in. This week we will be talking about the Drummer. If the bassist is the heartbeat, the pianist is the brain, the soloists are the voice, then the drummer is the legs that inspire the soloist to move along or relax.
We will be talking about four great drummers spanning the era from early jazz to the new kids. Warren "Baby" Dodds, Kenny Clarke, the late great Max Roach, Elvin Jones, and we will try to get a word or two from some local drummers. This will give you the opportunity to give you some sense of what it is to really be a jazz drummer and what kind of skill these great musicians have.
We will also be giving away tickets to the 1940s Radio Hour featuring the Pacific Jazz Ensemble.
So Check it out! It will be a great show!
See you there
-Chris

This was a great show. The more i do this show the more and more I am learning about the genre I love so much. Don't be too afraid I am sure we will be coming back to some of these great drummers.
